Dr. Emily Ventre

Clinical Psychologist

Emily is a qualified Clinical Psychologist with over 12 years of experience working with children, young people and parents/carers. During her career Emily has worked across NHS, local authority, social care and education settings.
Emily has a passion for supporting children, young people and their families. She offers therapeutic support for common mental health difficulties including anxiety, low mood, OCD and difficulties related to self-esteem. She also offers support to adopters and adopted children focussed on supporting the attachment relationship and healing children’s experiences of developmental trauma.
Emily completed her doctorate in Clinical Psychology at the University of Surrey and had previously completed an MSc in the Anna Freud Centre/UCL which focussed on child development and mental health. Emily uses a number of evidence-based therapies to support children and young people, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Compassion Focussed Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Emily also has additional training in Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy (DDP, levels 1 and 2) which is a trauma-informed and attachment based approach aimed at supporting children who have had difficult early experiences.
Emily offers weekly appointments for therapeutic support and has daytime availability as well as a limited number of evening appointments.
Emily is registered with the Health and Care Professions Council as a Practitioner Psychologist (PYL042926)
