Our Compassionate Mind Training Courses

Created by Clinical Psychologists and Qualified Teachers, for your Staff. Training courses are flexible based on individual school needs.

  • CAYP’s Teacher Development Resources programme is grounded in Compassionate Mind principles and clinical psychology.

It supports school staff in managing the emotional and psychological demands of teaching. The training is neuroscience-informed, practical and delivered by experienced clinical psychologists.

The focus is on helping staff remain regulated, effective and connected in challenging environments.

  • This programme is suitable for:

    • Headteachers and Senior Leadership Teams

    • SENCOs and pastoral teams

    • Teachers and teaching assistants

    • School-based therapists

It is particularly helpful for schools managing high emotional demand, complex needs and staff burnout.

Training can be delivered to whole staff groups or tailored teams.

  • Staff will explore:

    • How the brain responds to stress

    • The emotional impact of working in schools

    • Practical regulation strategies

    • Managing reactivity and compassion fatigue

All content is evidence-informed and immediately applicable within school settings.

  • We offer flexible delivery options, including:

    • Introductory sessions

    • Six-week or twelve-week programmes

    • Supervision groups

    • Inset or CPD days

Sessions can be delivered online, in person or as a blended programme, depending on your school’s needs.

  • Teaching involves sustained emotional pressure. Without structured support, this can lead to burnout, reactivity and compassion fatigue.

    Compassionate Mind approaches help staff:

    • Understand their stress responses

    • Build emotional regulation skills

    • Strengthen resilience

    • Stay connected to their values

This is about sustaining staff in the work that they already do.
