Amy has experience working with children in a variety of settings, including supporting the learning and development of toddlers in a nursery environment, where she helped monitor developmental milestones and supported children in building early social and emotional skills. She also led the netball programme at one of London's largest football academies, coaching children aged 4-14. She completed an internship with the neurology team at the Royal Free Hospital, where she gained insight into the impact of neurological conditions on young people and their families, and saw how different specialists worked together to support them. Through these experiences, Amy developed a particular interest in child and adolescent mental health and neurodivergence. Amy graduated from the University of Leeds with a First-Class Honours degree in Psychology. During her studies, she particularly enjoyed modules in developmental psychopathology and social psychology, and her dissertation explored whether feminist identification mediates the relationship between Dark Triad personality traits and subjective wellbeing. Amy’s research has deepened her interest in the psychological factors that shape mental health, including traits and circumstances that can put it at greater risk. Amy joined CAYP Psychology as an Assistant Psychologist to build clinical experience supporting children, young people, and families, and aims to go on to complete a doctorate in Clinical Psychology in the future.
