Harriet is an HCPC-registered Clinical Psychologist, with experience working with clients of all ages. She is experienced in working with children and young people who struggle to regulate their emotions and/or present with a range of emotional and behavioural difficulties. She is also experienced in assessing and working with children and young people with neurodevelopmental conditions such as ASD, ADHD and learning disabilities. Harriet is trained in several different therapeutic approaches and mainly draws upon Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Compassion Focused Therapy CFT). Harriet aims to work collaboratively with individuals and families to develop a shared understanding of the difficulties that have arisen and provide a tailored psychological intervention to reduce distress and improve wellbeing. As such, she draws on a range of psychological models to meet the specific needs of each individual or family that she supports. Harriet is also experienced in delivering teaching, training and consultation to external agencies. Harriet has worked as a university lecturer, teaching and supervising undergraduate and postgraduate students supporting them to develop a deep and coherent understanding of theoretical concepts relevant to child development. Alongside her work with CAYP Psychology, Harriet works part-time in an NHS Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS). Harriet is registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) as a practitioner psychologist (PYL34762).
