Dr. Jennifer Dainty

Clinical Psychologist

Jen has worked in the NHS for over 13 years. As a Clinical Psychologist within the NHS and in independent practice, Jen specialises in working with children, young people and parents, as well as linking in with wider services and agencies, including schools. Jen has extensive experience working with young people and their families who have experienced physical health and cognitive difficulties. She is highly experienced in administering neuropsychological assessments and is passionate that this information is used to optimise a young person's wellbeing and experience in educational settings.
Jen has worked predominantly in a specialist children's hospital throughout her career to date, as well as working in the community with young people and their families following acquired and traumatic brain injury. She is passionate about supporting young people following acute and longer-term trauma and adverse events, as well as with dealing with the many pressures young people face in today's society. Jen has extensive experience in providing training and consultation to other healthcare providers, as well as providing supervision to other Clinical Psychologists and Trainee Psychologists.
Jen predominantly uses therapeutic approaches including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Narrative Therapy. She is also an EMDR trained therapist.
Jen is a HCPC registered psychologist (PYL31344). She is able to offer online and face-to-face appointments, including cognitive assessment.
