Laura currently works for Cumbria, Northumberland, Tyne and Wear Foundation Trust. She is a Systemic Family Therapy Practitioner. Laura is based in the North East. Laura obtained her undergraduate psychology degree at Newcastle University in 2007 and completed her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at Newcastle University in 2016, graduating with a distinction in research. She has published work on adapting CBT for people with learning disabilities in an international peer-reviewed journal and has presented this research at national conferences. Prior to qualifying, Laura worked for the Prison Service with young offenders. After moving to the NHS, Laura worked with children and young people with learning disabilities and mental health difficulties. She also worked in a second opinion autism diagnostic service. Laura is a registered practitioner psychologist with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC, PYL33419).
