
Dr. Philippa Tivey
Clinical Psychologist
Philippa is a Clinical Psychologist with a specialism in child and adolescent mental health. She works in a CAMHS (Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service) and part-time with CAYP Psychology. Philippa studied her undergraduate and masters degrees at Sheffield Hallam University (2014) and she completed her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at the University of Birmingham in 2023.
Philippa has experience working with children and teenagers with mental health difficulties (particularly anxiety, low mood, OCD) and families experiencing challenges in their relationships at home. Philippa works with young people with a neurodivergence, and is skilled at finding creative ways to adapt therapeutic work for these children.
Philippa uses an integrative therapeutic approach based on each family's strengths and needs. Philippa often integrates CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) with ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy), CFT (Compassion Focussed Therapy) and systemic approaches to encourage changes across the whole family, and substantially improve each child's emotional and psychological wellbeing.
