Dr Farah Amaioua is a HCPC-registered Clinical Psychologist with specialist experience in neurodevelopmental conditions, particularly autism spectrum disorder (ASD), attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), and learning disabilities. Farah qualified with a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the University of Surrey. She also holds a Master's degree in Child and Adolescent Mental Health (MSc) from University College London, a Postgraduate Diploma in CYP-IAPT for Autism and Learning Disabilities (PGDip), also from University College London, and a Bachelor's degree in Psychology (BSc Hons) from St Mary's University, London. Farah has extensive experience working across NHS mental health services, including Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS), specialist neurodevelopmental services, and educational settings. Her clinical expertise includes comprehensive psychological and neurodevelopmental assessments, diagnostic formulation, and evidence-based psychological interventions for children, young people, and their families. She is trained in gold-standard autism assessment tools, including the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule, Second Edition (ADOS-2), and Autism Diagnostic Interview-Revised (ADI-R). She also has experience delivering a range of evidence-based therapeutic approaches, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) for anxiety, depression, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), and obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), Narrative Exposure Therapy, Multi-Family Therapy, and Comprehensive Behavioural Treatment for Tics. Alongside her clinical work, Farah has a strong interest in research, particularly the recognition and diagnosis of autism in individuals with genetic syndromes associated with intellectual disabilities. Her doctoral research explored the complexities of autism identification and diagnosis within these populations, highlighting the importance of recognising individual presentations and reducing diagnostic overshadowing. Farah is committed to providing compassionate, person-centred and evidence-based psychological care. She adopts a collaborative and holistic approach, working closely with children, young people, families and wider professional networks to promote psychological wellbeing, improve access to appropriate support, and empower individuals to achieve their potential.
