Olivia Barker-Williams
Clinical Psychologist
Olivia is a HCPC-registered Clinical Psychologist with experience working therapeutically with babies, children, young people, parents and families across a range of NHS and community settings. Alongside her work with CAYP Psychology, Olivia works within a specialist Parent and Infant Relationship Service (PAIRS), supporting expectant parents and families with babies up to two years old. She has worked across specialist perinatal mental health services, CAMHS, adult mental health services and older adult services, supporting individuals with a wide range of emotional, behavioural and relationship difficulties. Olivia has also contributed to projects with the 1001 Critical Days Foundation, helping to promote the importance of early relationships and emotional wellbeing during the earliest years of life.
Throughout her career, Olivia has delivered psychological assessment, formulation and therapy for children and young people experiencing difficulties such as anxiety, low mood, emotional regulation difficulties, relationship challenges and the impact of adverse life experiences. She has experience working closely with parents, schools and wider professional networks to support positive outcomes for young people, while also maintaining a specialist interest in parent-infant relationships, attachment and bonding. Olivia is passionate about early intervention and enjoys supporting families through pregnancy, the transition to parenthood and the early years, helping parents to build confidence and strengthen their relationships with their children.
Olivia's approach is warm, compassionate and collaborative. She believes that meaningful change happens within safe and trusting relationships and aims to create a space where children, young people and families feel understood, supported and empowered. Drawing on a range of evidence-based approaches, including Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), attachment-based approaches, systemic thinking and trauma-informed practice, she tailors her work to each individual's unique needs, helping families make sense of their experiences, build resilience and develop stronger, more connected relationships.
